School Closure Feeding Sites — Northeast Tennessee

During school closures across Northeast Tennessee, multiple feeding sites were established so that families and children could continue to receive nutritious meals. The Region AHEAD initiative helped coordinate awareness of these locations across Sullivan, Washington, Carter, Greene, Hawkins, Johnson, and Unicoi counties.

Sites typically operated through partnerships between local school districts, churches, community centers, and volunteer-driven organizations. Meals were available at no cost to children eighteen and under, and many sites also offered grab-and-go bags so families could collect food without lingering.
